Wedding Packages and the final Product
It might seem a strange thing to be writing a little post about Wedding Packages, but there is a very good reason for it. The end product. As much as a wedding package will cover all of the photography on the day, what use is it if you don’t do much with those final photographs.
Every Wedding Photographer these days are likely to be supplying all of the final photographs digitally. This hardly changes from photographer to photographer, with the exception of how many they expect to be supplying, some may limit the number others will just freestyle and you end up with however many exceptional shots of the day are captured (just hopefully not too many that are pretty much the same to anyone). We are all likely to be sending the photographs online for viewing, downloading and potentially selecting those to be printed as single prints or to go into an album, or whatever other option there is to print on. This option is nice and quick for instant share ability with friends and family. Quite often though, we love a digital photo to share the big day on social media, set as wallpapers on phones and laptops, but after so long those hundreds of photographs captured disappear into the back catalogue as we capture new images of food, drink, nights out, cute animals and travels.
Typically you will also receive a USB (or if old school a CD/DVD) and this can sometimes be a second thought of some photographers, simply “ooh I need to send a USB” and some thought can go into the packaging and sometimes, as lovely as it is, can often just disappear very quickly to the back of a cupboard if not careful.
After some careful deliberation, I’ve found the perfect way to supply a fantastic final product. Included in every wedding package is an eco wooden box, supplied from Wooden Banana. Zero plastic is used in any stage of these products, all supplied in recyclable cardboard boxes. These wooden boxes are super smart, the lid slides out, leaving room for a USB slot, where the USB matches the box. The USB and box are uniquely engraved, with my logo on the USB and the name of the couple on the front of the box. Inside is also a slot for a selection of gorgeous prints, neatly tied together in a bed of raffia.
Together this forms a stand out piece that won’t look out of place on the coffee table or a side board, wherever it is suitable. With a wooden box opposed to some other options, the longevity of the piece out weighs those other options with the ability to withstand many bumps and knocks along the way. It’s much harder to destroy and damage over time with general wear and tear.
Additional products are always available to purchase through me with reputable companies who provide the utmost care and attention to detail and longevity in their prints, far away from the high street brands. Additional products include bespoke albums, extra large prints, canvases, wood blocks & prints. Even odd shaped wall hangings are available, such as circles & hexagons. or even a triptych. If a supplier is available to produce eco friendly options, then I am more likely to be purchasing through them, such as Wooden Banana, to name one I have already used and will be using over time for USB boxes & Albums. Unfortunately finding eco products are much harder to come by, therefore the prices can range a little higher than the standard product you can buy.
